The semi-mythical conflict of Greek mythology waged between the Achaean Greek states and the city-state of Troy, now thought to be located at Hisarlık in Turkey. The historicity of the Trojan War is highly questionable, and while archaeological excavations at Hisarlık have produced evidence that the city may have been sacked or heavily damaged during the Bronze Age, the involvement or even existence of all the same players or turn of events as described in the Iliad and Odyssey are highly doubtful. This period span is set to represent a time in the 13th to 12th centuries BCE that a Trojan War that could have provided the basis for the stories of Greek mythology might have taken place.

Cast of Characters
The historical people the archive’s titles put on screen in this period, grouped by what they are known for. The number is how many titles set here they appear in.
A thread follows one event or historical theme across the archive, wherever and whenever it appears. Pulling a thread opens up a narrowed timeline view filtered to every year that thread touches.
The destructive sacking of the semi-mythical city of Troy in the late Bronze Age, as described in the Iliad and Odyssey. Of course, while the historicity of the Trojan War and Troy itself has long been a debated subject among historians, the archeological site at Hisarlık in modern-day Turkey is generally considered to be the historical basis for the city of legend.
Every place the archive’s titles set in this period name, with each one nested under the larger place it sits inside where that place is here too. The number is how many titles set here name it.
No title set here has been given a saltiness score yet. That is unrated, which is not the same as accurate.
Archive Density
50%2 of the 4 titles the archive sets between 1250 BCE and 1180 BCE carry the Trojan War tag.
This measure can help illustrate cinematic hotspots within a time period by comparing which years of the overarching, actual historical time period are backed up by a cinematic release.
1250 BCE0 of 2 titles set in 1250 BCE carry this period
1180 BCE2 of 2 titles set in 1180 BCE carry this period
3 years on the timeline fall inside the boundaries, 1 of them with nothing set there yet. The filled part of each bar is the share carrying this period.
Share of the 5 genre taggings across 2 titles set in this period. A title filed under three genres is in three of these slices, so this is a share of taggings rather than of titles.
Films only. Co-directors are counted individually, so a director’s solo work and their collaborations are grouped together. Average saltiness ignores any title still unsalted.

Part of and part of it are declared by the archive: one period counted as belonging to another, whatever their dates. Periods overlap freely so concurrent means the two spans share years, and the shared stretch is named. Bounded means it lies wholly inside this one, beginning and ending more than 10 years within its boundaries. Before and after are the nearest periods lying outside this one, with the gap in years shown instead. A shared thread is what the two have in common besides the calendar, and a period lying wholly outside this one can still share one.
